POSTING
FOR A SUMMER LIBRARY CLERK
The Bibliotheque Lennoxville Library is looking to hire a Summer
Library Clerk, to assist in the daily operations of the Library under the
supervision of the Library Coordinator.
As this position is funded by Canada Summer Jobs 2012, the incumbent
must be a student between the ages of 15 and 30 years and returning to their
studies in Fall 2012.
Specific Tasks
1. Welcomes visitors and assists them in locating library materials.
2. Records materials checked out by members of the library and processes
renewals of material.
3. Shelves books, magazines, and other items.
4. Demonstrates the operation of the library's public computers.
5.
Assists in the publicizing of fundraisers and
programs, for both adults and children.
6.
Assists in the preparation, organization and
running of the TD Summer Reading Club, as well as research activities and
themes for the children’s programs.
7. Follows appropriate procedural protocols.
8. Performs other work related to the library as assigned by the Library Coordinator.
Qualifications
·
Experience in relevant library work is an asset
·
Experience working with children, is required
·
Must be able to communicate well in both English
and French. Strong written English is essential. Good written French is an
asset
·
Knowledge of MS Office Suite and FileMaker Pro

Work Schedule: 30 hours per week, Tuesday to Saturday
Anticipated Start Date: Tuesday, June 19, 2012
Duration of Contract: 8 weeks (Saturday, August 11, 2012)
Salary: $9.90 per hour (subsidized by Canada Summer Jobs 2012)

MYSTERY
CONTEST WINNERS!
On Saturday, May 5, the winners of the Mystery Story Competition that
was open to both elementary schools' cycle 3 students were announced at
the library.
For the English section of the competition
Lukas Boulanger was the winner Catrina Volsan and Marina Gutherie-Drew tied for second place Honourable mention goes to Cassandra Carrier
For the English Second Language section
Andres Issac Bareiro Sanchez was the winner 2nd prize: Samuel Flibotte Honourable mention goes to Ariane Rousseau
These students attend Ecole St. Antoine and are in an intensive English class.
For the French section of the competition
Elodie Poulin was the winner Honourable mention goes to Josianne Brault
These students also attend Ecole St. Antoine
